Voluntary Work with Children Overseas
Poverty tends to affect the most vulnerable people in a society, and for this reason, much of the voluntary work that Projects Abroad does overseas involves children, whether that is having our volunteers working in schools, care homes, orphanages or hospitals. This kind of work can be difficult at times but it is always rewarding.
Projects Abroad is the most successful volunteering organisation in the world - sending over 10,000 volunteers away every year – and we have built our reputation around our superb Teaching and Care placements, which we operate in all of our destinations, including Peru and Bolivia in South America, Mexico and Jamaica in Central America and the Caribbean, Ghana and Ethiopia in Africa, Romania in Eastern Europe and Mongolia and India in Asia. Volunteers also work with children in our Medicine & Healthcare and Sports placements.
Projects Abroad Local Support
All of our destinations have directly employed local staff teams, who are there to provide you with support and guidance for the duration of your time away with us. They will meet you at the airport, introduce you to your host family and work supervisor, and help to familiarise you with the local area.
Voluntary work with children overseas with Projects Abroad is open to people of all ages, from all sorts of backgrounds. Volunteers choose their own projects, destinations, project lengths and start dates. We offer a set price which includes all accommodation, meals, insurance and support from our staff. We can arrange flights for an additional fee. Volunteers who select a project where they are working with children or vulnerable people are likely to be required to complete a Criminal Record Bureau check, or equivalent.
