Our Global Citizenship Framework brings learning to life through real-world experience. So much so, that we have begun the process of embedding it into all of our programmes.
The Three Domains of Learning
Our Global Citizenship Framework is built on the three ‘Domains of Learning’ from UNESCO:
- Cognitive (Understand): developing an awareness of global systems and issues.
- Socio-emotional (Reflect): building empathy, respect, and intercultural understanding.
- Behavioural (Act): taking informed, ethical, and collaborative action
This foundation gives our programmes academic credibility and emotional depth, connecting travel with meaningful personal development.
Measuring global citizenship

How we embed this into our projects
Our Global Citizenship Framework shapes every stage of a participant’s experience.
- Before you go: you’ll begin with guided online preparation, learning about your destination, global issues, and cultural context. This helps you set goals and reflect on what you hope to achieve.
- The experience: our local teams facilitate regular reflection and group discussions, helping you connect your project work to wider global systems. Peer-to-peer exchanges with local people deepen your cultural understanding.
- Once you’re home: you’ll consolidate your learning by sharing reflections, creating stories and/or presenting about your experience.

Throughout the process, learning isn’t forced. It’s embedded into the experience through guidance, conversation, and connection.
What you will gain from the Framework
- For teenagers / high school students: you won’t just see the world; you’ll participate in it. You’ll build real-world skills like critical thinking, cultural awareness, empathy, and leadership.
- For parents: every programme is structured with learning outcomes in mind. This means your child’s journey is academically credible; and growth is intentional not accidental.
