See the best Vietnam has to offer, starting in the historic capital city of Hanoi before enjoying a two-day excursion to the unique Ha Long Bay. Then, head to the hillside rice paddies of Mai Chau to meet local artisans and farmers.
Our High School Programmes run over fixed dates during school holidays. This means you’ll also travel with a group of people your age from all over the world, sharing your experience and forging lifelong friendships.
Aims & Impact

By travelling alongside other participants your age from all over the world, you‘ll share the experience and forge friendships that last a lifetime.
Additionally, you’ll learn basic Vietnamese, discover the history and culture of this fascinating nation, and learn about traditional weaving and farming techniques.
Join us on this project to develop your skills, expand your global perspective, and support locally-led initiatives in Vietnam.
Activities
As a community development volunteer in Vietnam, you’ll contribute towards key environmental initiatives and the education of local children in Hanoi and Mai Chau. You’ll get an amazing international experience and immerse in a new culture, providing a fantastic opportunity to grow your personal and professional skills.
Here are a few of the tasks you can expect to do during your placement:
- Environmental activism – Join a local environmental charity to help clean the lakes and waterways of Hanoi, where littering can be a common problem. Also, help plant trees at a local school and spread awareness of the importance of environmental preservation.
- English teaching – Lead basic English classes, covering the alphabet, numbers, and greetings, to help start the learning process early. This will also help stimulate learning in their own language, contributing to our major goal of improving worldwide literacy rates.
- Farm and business support – Travel to local farms and businesses in the Mai Chau region to support their work and understand how they operate day-to-day. Use what you learn to provide an engaging business management workshop to local community members.
- Recycling workshops – Attend workshops looking into the specifics of recycling and learning more about the process. Take the time to make handmade products from recycled materials (which you can keep) and recycle soap from hotels to provide for local communities.
- Traditional crafts – Understand how to make a variety of products from bamboo, as it is a common, sustainable, and regenerative material, and learn traditional crafts and weaving techniques from local artisans. Who knows, maybe you’ll find a new favourite hobby?
Our community development volunteer projects give you the chance to live and work in a totally new environment. You’ll meet amazing people, try incredible food, and support local community efforts around the world.
In Vietnam, you’ll work closely with children and community leaders on a wide variety of tasks in the local area. You’ll also learn from them directly, joining cultural workshops and visiting historic landmarks.
Enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime cultural experience where no two days are the same, all while supporting educational and environmental outcomes in global communities.
