What you can expect

Based in Pacific Harbour, you’ll spend two weeks gaining international diving qualifications, contributing to vital marine conservation projects, and exploring the natural beauty of the South Pacific.

Diving & Marine Conservation in Action

• PADI Open Water Certification: Spend your first week mastering essential scuba skills and dive theory under the guidance of professional instructors, building the confidence needed to dive safely in open waters.
• Shark dive and species monitoring: Experience an unforgettable shark dive in Beqa Lagoon, observing apex predators like Bull, Tiger, and Whitetip Reef sharks in their natural habitat.
• Reef surveys and data entry: Conduct survey dives at locations like Geckos Reef to monitor fish, shark, and turtle populations, as well as coral health, logging your observations into databases to support local biological research.
• Mangrove restoration and coastal protection: Get hands-on for “Mangrove Monday” by collecting seedlings, managing the nursery, and planting established mangroves along the coastline to prevent erosion and protect marine nurseries.
• Ocean plastic and beach clean-ups: Take part in marine litter workshops and lead coastline clean-ups, using the Clean Swell app to track and analyse ocean pollution data.

Cultural immersion & Island life

Immerse yourself in the warm hospitality of Fijian culture. Learn about local traditions during a culture swap circle, participate in a traditional lovo cooking workshop where food is slow-cooked in an underground earth oven, and enjoy spectacular fire dance performances at Uprising Beach Resort.

Adventure & Exploration

When you’re not diving or managing conservation work, explore Fiji’s tropical interior and history. Visit Suva to tour historical landmarks and the Suva Museum, float past rainforests and cascading waterfalls during a river tubing adventure down the Navua River, and trek through lush valleys on a guided coastal highland hike to discover hidden waterfalls.
